VANS releases Half Cab Limited Edition Shoes to mark 20^th Anniversary

Toronto, ON (February 1, 2012):  After 46 years as being one of the main providers of extreme sportswear gear for skateboarders, Vans will be releasing a limited edition of their most legendary shoes, the Half Cab to commemorate its 20^th anniversary throughout the course of the year. Vans stands for the heart of skate culture and by releasing their most popular shoe, it symbolizes their commitment to collaborating with one of the greatest pro skater in history, Steve Caballero.

The Half Cab, named after professional skater Steve Caballero was first released in 1991 and it featured a two piece toe cap, Van’s signature Waffle Grip and numerous side panels.  Half Cab became famously known among skaters mainly because it was worn by an entire generation of pro riders who redefined street skateboarding and it still worn to this day by pro and amateur skaters.

Beginning of January, Vans will commence releasing 20 pairs of limited editions Vans “Half Cab” worldwide every month, throughout the course of the year. Each pair of Half Cabs will be individually cut, numbered and signed by Caballero himself and will be available exclusively at selected Supreme stores.
